Erica Rubis plays viol and cello with Bourbon Baroque, Generation Harmonique, the Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra and with Julie Elhard (viol) as the duo, Violes Egales. Recently, Ms. Rubis has collaborated with composer/performer Tomas Lozano in his song project on the poetry of Juan Ramón Jimenez. Ms. Rubis also performs with poet Timothy Bagwell in readings of his anti-war poetry.
Erica holds a B.A. in Music from St. Olaf College, a Performer's Certificate from The Royal Conservatory in The Hague, Netherlands and an MM in Early Music Performance at Indiana University.
Active in music education, Erica worked with the ECHO program for children at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and as an instructor at the Viola da Gamba Society Conclave and Amherst Early Music Festival. She is currently on the board of Early Music in Motion, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing early music to underserved populations, with whom she recently pioneered their program, Shakespeare's Ear, touring Indiana libraries and elementary schools yearly since 2009.
